DIVISION OF PROPERTY

This issue surrounding the division (partition) of property can be perhaps the most complex of all issues in family law. Laura L. Davenport will work to achieve an equitable distribution of property while minimizing legal fees.

Louisiana is a Community Property State. With certain exceptions, the assets and debts accumulated during the marriage are considered community property. Each spouse owns one-half of the assets and debts accumulated during the marriage.
